Engineer Mu’azu Magaji Dan Sarauniya has been granted bail by a court in Kano State
A court in Kano state has granted bail to former state commissioner of works, Engineer Mu’azu Magaji Dan Sarauniya.
The Nomansland District Court No. 58 granted bail of N1 million, subject to certain conditions.
Justice Aminu Gabari said that after paying the fee, Mu’azu had to keep his travel passport.
He will also bring two people to stand for him, the first must be the village head, and the second must either be the chief imam or the Hizbah commander of Dan-sarauniya village.
Engineer Mu’azu was arrested by the police on January 27 in the Nigerian capital, Abuja.
He was deported to Kano State where he was charged by the police with defamation of the state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
